KILLER DIARRHEA BUG
Stalking American Seniors!
Lyle Loughry, November 2007
Believe it or not, it's bred in hospitals, it's antibiotic-resistant and it's deadly to frail loved ones... and It’s already struck at least 225,000 hospital patients in recent months... Soon after catching it, patients will have the worst diarrhea of their life. Their guts will churn with horrific pain and their temperature will soar. The elderly or infirmed may die... and even if they live, it can come back again and again!
Hospitals and Nursing Homes are hushing it up because they’re terrified of lawsuits. But according to government watchdogs at the Centers for Disease Control, the new superbug Clostridium difficile has struck at least 225,000 hospital visitors in recent months. The real figure could be half a million and it’s rising steeply, month by month. A significant percentage of older victims die.
Where did it come from? Ironically, it was bred through overuse of the chemical antibiotics that physicians prescribe! As most people now know, antibiotics not only kill off harmful germs—they also wipe out the army of "friendly bacteria" in your intestine. These good bacteria help you digest your food and defend you against harmful microbes. Without them, you’re a sitting duck. That’s why hospital patients on antibiotics have become living incubators for killer bugs. These "superbugs" have become immune to many antibiotics—and they’re spreading far beyond hospitals now. How are hospitals treating it? With even harsher antibiotics, of course, but these quite often don’t work. And, continued antibiotic use can create even worse diarrhea by killing off your remaining "good" bacteria.
What should they be using? Something absurdly simple and relatively inexpensive! Natural probiotic supplements have been proven to protect against diarrhea caused by deadly germs. They do it by re-populating your gut with billions of "good" bacteria. Think about it, attempting to cure a problem with what caused the problem to begin with (chemical antibiotics), doesn't make much sense, does it?
What should you do right now? Everyone who visits a hospital, travels a lot, especially out of country, now takes, or has recently taken antibiotics, should consider taking a daily probiotic to restore the friendly bacteria destroyed by prescription drugs (antibiotics) and unhealthy lifestyles, plus a natural antibiotic to protect and prevent infectious diseases like colds, flu, pneumonia, MRSA, and even this dangerous Clostridium difficile. If you’re over 40 or have bowel problems, you should also consider taking a probiotic supplement every day as "insurance." For heaven’s sake, don’t wait to get ambushed by this bug! Probiotics are even more effective when used as preventives and they can be quite inexpensive. Prevention is always better than treatment.
